Richmond River Trail
Situated along the bank of the Winooski River in Richmond. 4.5 miles (including two short sections on Cochran Road) of beginner-intermediate sandy trail that experiences frequent flooding and is maintained thanks to dedicated volunteers.
Intervale Center
Although the Intervale specializes as a local Co-Op. THroughout the winter months, the trails throughout the Intervale Center can be utilized for many types of winter activities.
Catamount Trail Association
At 300 miles in length the Catamount Trail is one of Vermont's most treasured gems. Conceived in 1984 and fully linked in 2008, thousands of skiers and snowshoers take to the trail every season.
Trapp Family Lodge
Trapp Family Lodge is home to the first cross-country ski center in the country, and it’s the largest in Stowe. But cross-country skiing isn’t the only winter activity you can enjoy here; backcountry skiing and snowshoeing are also popular activities.

Stowe Nordic Center
Stowe Mountain Resort's Cross Country Ski Center offers 45 kilometers of groomed trails and 30 kilometers of backcountry terrain. At our rental shop, we offer a wide selection of nordic snowsport gear including snowshoes, touring gear, performance skate ski and classic ski packages, and backcountry gear.
Sleepy Hollow Ski & Bike Center
Sleepy Hollow offers 35km of well-groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing. With snowshoeing trails available as well, make sure to explore the Butternut Cabin overlooking Camels Hump.
Cochran’s Ski Area
In 1961, parents Mickey and Ginny Cochran built a small ski area on their hillside property where they trained their four children to be world-class ski racers. That same hill has grown into Cochran's ski area, with three lifts, 8 slopes, and a loyal local following.
