WINTER EVENTS IN BURLINGTON
DEC / JAN / FEB

Bundle up, and enjoy the beauty of a snowcapped city as the festivities are just beginning. From Penguin Plunges into the freezing waters of Lake Champlain, to downtown Ice Bars uniting the community in nights of celebration. The winter in Burlington is full of unique events to keep you busy through the winter months.

Starting with Highlight, Burlington’s New Year’s Celebration is a night of fun for the entire family. Hosting downtown shows along the Church Street Marketplace, engaging entertainment for both youth and adults, and a special firework show to help ring in the new year.

When the second weekend in February comes around, it’s worth checking out the Lake Champlain Pond Hockey Classic in Mallett’s Bay, and you will experience a true Vermont tradition. Every year, hundreds of teams from around the world gather together along the iced-up waters of Lake Champlain to compete in the Labatt Pond Hockey Classic. Over the same weekend, Hotel Vermont teams up with local restaurants, breweries, and distilleries to throw the best Ice Bar in the North! The Hotel Vermont Ice Bar is an event you will not want to miss!
